Radium Girls

20 – 28 March

Travel back a century to an age dazzled by one of the most extraordinary discoveries in history: Radium. Hailed as a scientific miracle, it promised advancements in health and beauty and had a touch of magic that seemed to shine forever. In glowing watches, prized for their shimmering dials, it lit up the dreams of a generation, but the radiance concealed a deadly secret.

In dial painting studios, girls were forced to carefully bend over delicate watch faces, shaping their fine brushes with their lips to achieve perfect precision. Each stroke delivered a tiny dose of radium that made their work gleam, and that would, unknowingly, poison their bodies from within.

They became known as the Radium Girls, and their fight for justice would expose corporate greed, challenge scientific complacency, and reveal the unbreakable spirit of those who refused to be silenced.

Gripping and deeply human, Radium Girls is more than a play. It is a luminous tribute to courage in the face of catastrophe. Step into the glow and uncover the truth that burned beneath it.

Breaker Morant

1 – 10 May

One of Australia’s most powerful and enduring plays, Breaker Morant tells the true story of Lieutenant Harry “Breaker” Morant and his fellow officers, tried by court-martial during the Boer War. Charged with the murder of enemy prisoners, their trial and sentencing raised questions of justice, loyalty, and the politics of war that still resonate today.

Sharp, gripping, and deeply moving, the play examines the thin line between duty and morality, and the heavy cost of empire. With its mix of historical drama and courtroom tension, Breaker Morant remains a landmark of Australian theatre.

This production honours a defining chapter in our history while challenging audiences to reflect on truth, sacrifice, and responsibility.
